It wasn’t easy choosing the best gyms in Dallas. Dallas is full of independently owned gyms with something unique to offer, so it was hard to exclude some of them. I’ve made up my mind, though: here are Dallas’ 5 best gyms worth talking about!

The Best Gyms In Dallas Are:

  • Trophy Fitness – Best For Club Facilities & Accessibility
  • Cowboys Fit – Best Gym Facilities & Group Fitness Classes
  • D-Town CrossFit – Best CrossFit Gym
  • Hunger In The Wild – Best For Weightlifting
  • Grit Fitness – Best Boutique Fitness Studio For Women

I chose these Dallas gyms for more than what they’re “best for”, though, so make sure to check out the reasons below alongside the benefits, drawbacks, and membership prices. You’ll also get my opinion on who should sign up and who should avoid!

5 Best Gyms In Dallas - Texas

Does Dallas Have Good Gyms?

Dallas stands out for its choice of independent gyms – which shows that fitness and being a gym member is definitely a lifestyle in this city. But there are also commercial gyms, boutique fitness studios, and CrossFit gyms in Dallas, so there is no shortage of options.

Gyms In Dallas: 5 Best Options

1. Trophy Fitness – Best For Club Facilities & Accessibility

Trophy Fitness
  • Website: https://trophyfitness.com/
  • Address: 3 locations in Dallas (Downtown, Uptown, Mockingbird)
  • Hours: Monday–Thursday 5am–10pm, Friday 5am–9pm, Saturday 8am–6pm, Sunday 9am–5pm
  • Price: Memberships from $79/mo
  • Sign up fees: $149
  • No lock-in contracts: Available
  • Free trial: 7 days (Dallas residents only)
  • Group fitness: Extensive

Trophy Fitness is a Dallas fitness club with three locations around the city. It offers premium gym facilities, member amenities, and group fitness classes, with the purpose to provide a level of cleanliness and customer service that chain gyms don’t deliver.

What Are The Gym Benefits?

Being a member of Trophy Fitness gives you access to all three Dallas locations and everything each one has to offer. This includes gym access, group fitness classes, and club amenities, such as dry saunas, steam rooms, a whirlpool, and an infrared sauna.

Above all, what this club delivers is top facilities and a high standard of maintenance. The equipment is premium and everything is organized and kept clean! Personal training is also available and the best thing is the programs are individually tailored to your goals.

What Do You Need To Know Before Purchasing A Membership?

There are two main memberships: TrophyEssential for $79 per month and TrophyStudio which starts at $119 per month (both have a $149 sign-up fee).

The main difference here is that TrophyEssential limits you to Plus+ level classes (like Spin and Hump Day Pump Day) while TrophyStudio gives you full class access with the option of 4, 8, or unlimited classes per month.

The other membership, Personal Training, starts at $489 per month (with a $75 enrollment fee) and includes a set amount of monthly PT sessions plus gym access. PT packages are also available, starting at $75 per session.

Are There Any Drawbacks?

The sign-up fee isn’t cheap. But that aside, I’d say the monthly price is reasonable for all the perks you get. Hey, you can even check the place out first with a 7-day free trial.

Who Should Work Out Here?

It’s for fitness enthusiasts who want an all-in-one fitness club with multiple locations. It’s also ideal if you like your gyms organized and spotless. But if you won’t take advantage of all the facilities and classes at each club, the price probably won’t be worth it.

2. Cowboys Fit – Best Gym Facilities & Group Fitness Classes

Cowboys Fit
  • Website: https://cowboysfit.com/
  • Address: 5 Cowboys Way, Frisco, Dallas (plus 4 more locations in Downtown, Plano, and Pflugerville, and East Dallas – opening soon)
  • Hours: Monday–Thursday 5am–10pm, Friday 5am–9pm, Saturday–Sunday 7am–7pm
  • Price: Memberships from $96.34/mo
  • Sign up fees: $99
  • No lock-in contracts: Available
  • Free trial: Guest pass
  • Group fitness: Extensive

Cowboys Fit is located at The Star in Frisco (yep, Dallas Cowboys HQ) with 60,000 square feet of state-of-the-art gym facilities. It also boasts saunas (infrared and cocoon pods), a recovery lounge, a rooftop lap pool, and diverse boutique group fitness classes.

What Are The Gym Benefits?

Used by Dallas Cowboys, the gyms here are large and fully equipped with top-of-the-range machines, equipment, weight plates, and free weights. The boutique group fitness classes are super diverse and held daily, involving every class you can think of.

Cowboys Fit Frisco is the flagship gym but they also have one in Downtown with another coming soon in East Dallas. And with the All Inclusive membership, you can visit any location with unlimited HydroMassage, NormaTec, and Cryotherapy sessions thrown on top.

What Do You Need To Know Before Purchasing A Membership?

If you’re just going to visit the flagship Frisco gym, it’s $96.34 per month, giving you access to the gym, facilities, and classes, with 1 HydroMassage, 1 Cryotherapy, and 1 NormaTec session included for free.

To visit any Cowboys Fit location and have unlimited HydroMassage, Cryotherapy, and NormaTec sessions (All Inclusive), it’s $147.34 per month.

For both memberships there’s a $99 join fee plus a $53.04 annual fee.

Are There Any Drawbacks?

The flagship Cowboys Fit at The Star has the most facilities but is the farthest to reach from central Dallas.

Who Should Work Out Here?

If you want superior gym facilities, Cowboys Fit is the best Dallas has to offer. It’s also worth it if you’re a serious athlete who needs frequent recovery sessions. But if you won’t use all the membership perks (or you’re a 49ers fan), you’ll want to look elsewhere.

3. D-Town CrossFit – Best CrossFit Gym

D-Town CrossFit
  • Website: http://dtowncrossfit.com/
  • Address: 155 Parkhouse St, Dallas
  • Hours: Monday–Saturday class-based schedule (with open gym)
  • Price: Drop-in for $20, 10 classes for $180, memberships from $100/mo
  • Sign up fees: None
  • No lock-in contracts: Available
  • Free trial: None
  • Group fitness: Extensive

D-Town CrossFit is a 15,000-square-foot premium CrossFit facility. But what makes D-Town trump all other CrossFit gyms in Dallas is its streamlined two-level class schedule for beginner and intermediate members, complete with lots of open gym access.

What Are The Gym Benefits?

Many CrossFit gyms fail to offer open gym access and a daily class schedule. But where D-Town gets this right is its fixed Monday–Friday schedule offering separate level 1 and level 2 classes with all-day open gym access (Saturday is community class and open gym).

So no matter your skill level, this CrossFit gym makes it easy for everyone to turn up and work out. Solo workouts, classes, and PT sessions can take place at the same time, which also gives D-Town more of an welcoming and fun community atmosphere!

What Do You Need To Know Before Purchasing A Membership?

Don’t want to commit? You can drop in for $20 or grab a 10-class punch card, valid for 3 months, for $180.

Happy to commit? Monthly unlimited is $200/mo, 6 months unlimited is $180/mo, and 12 months unlimited is $2000 upfront. There’s also a 6-month membership that gives you 2 classes per week for $100/mo.

All of these are for classes and open gym visits. For personal training, they want you to get in touch to discuss your options.

Are There Any Drawbacks?

It’s not open on Sundays. Despite that, I still think D-Town CrossFit easily beats all other CrossFit gyms in Dallas.

Who Should Work Out Here?

CrossFitters of all fitness levels and abilities. The only reason you should avoid is if you don’t like CrossFit!

4. Hunger In The Wild – Best For Weightlifting

Hunger In The Wild
  • Website: https://hungerinthewild.com/
  • Address: 1350 Manufacturing St, Suite 204, Dallas
  • Hours: 24 hours
  • Price: Memberships from $55 per week
  • Sign up fees: $30
  • No lock-in contracts: Available
  • Free trial: None
  • Group fitness: Limited

Dallas has two great weightlifting gyms: Hunger in the Wild and Dallas Strength and Conditioning. But I chose Hunger in the Wild for the fact that it’s 24 hours with better weightlifting equipment, group fitness classes, and member perks.

What Are The Gym Benefits?

HITW calls itself the number one Olympic weightlifting gym in Dallas – and I see why. It’s decked out with competition-grade Rogue equipment, offering world-class coaching through group fitness classes (Monday–Saturday) and personal training. It’s also open 24/7.

So you don’t need to be a pro lifter to go here as Hunger in the Wild welcomes beginners as much as it caters to serious weightlifters and powerlifters. And with four simple membership tiers, it’s super easy choosing the membership you need to achieve your goals.

What Do You Need To Know Before Purchasing A Membership?

The four membership tiers are Tier 1, Tier 2A, Tier 2B, and Tier 3. Each membership gives you 24-hour gym access, unlimited classes, remote coaching, quarterly goal sessions, and quarterly InBody analysis.

Tier 1 costs $55 per week and is ideal if you mostly know what you’re doing. Tier 2A is $90 per week with personal training. Tier 2B is $100 per week with nutrition coaching. And Tier 3 is $130 per week with personal training and nutrition coaching.

All memberships have a $30 sign-up fee.

Are There Any Drawbacks?

It’s pretty expensive. Most premium non-commercial gyms charge around $50 monthly but this gym charges that per week. Still, taking full advantage of the perks might make it worth it.

Who Should Work Out Here?

Olympic weightlifters, powerlifters, and anyone who wants to start either. The unlimited group fitness classes and 24/7 access are also massive perks if you want to build muscle and strength. But you have a tight budget, this one’s simply not for you.

5. Grit Fitness – Best Boutique Fitness Studio For Women

Grit Fitness
  • Website: https://www.dallasgritfitness.com/
  • Address: 1729 Irving Blvd, Suite #101, Dallas (plus another location on SMU Blvd)
  • Hours: Monday–Sunday class schedule
  • Price: 3 memberships from $79/mo, drop-in for $28, 5-class pack for $105, 6 months upfront for $895 or 12 months upfront for $1465
  • Sign up fees: None
  • No lock-in contracts: Available
  • Free trial: None
  • Group fitness: Extensive

GRIT Fitness has been called Dallas’ best gym more than once. It’s a boutique fitness studio with one goal: to empower women through curated workouts that benefit cardio, strength, and flexibility. So for women living in Dallas, this is definitely one worth looking at.

What Are The Gym Benefits?

GRIT offers a variety of group fitness classes designed to help women improve themselves physically and mentally. These were created by founder Brit Rettig, with all classes taught by her awesome team of women instructors who share her vision.

The list is long but classes include Dance Club Cardio, Complete Core, KO Boxing, Slow Stretch, Power Tower, GRIT HIIT, Body Sculpt, and Full Body Circuit Burn. GRIT also has two Dallas locations – usually giving you at least 10 classes to choose from per day.

What Do You Need To Know Before Purchasing A Membership?

GRIT has three month-to-month, no contract memberships. Bronze is $79/mo for 4 monthly classes, Silver is $119/mo for 8 monthly classes, and Gold is $169/mo for unlimited classes.

If you’re happy to commit, Pearl is another membership offering unlimited classes for $139 per month with a one-year contract. This also gives you one free monthly guest pass.

There are upfront options too, and these are 6 months of unlimited classes for $895 and 12 months of unlimited classes for $1465.

Otherwise, you can drop in for $28 or get a 5-class pack for $105. Newcomers can also take advantage of 3 weeks of unlimited classes (any location) for $40, or 4 weeks for $75.

In addition, if you’re not satisfied with your membership you can get a full refund within 30 days.

Are There Any Drawbacks?

GRIT has a strict punctuality and class cancellation policy. You need to arrive on time or cancel at least four hours before the class to avoid an automatic $15 fee.

Who Should Work Out Here?

As a boutique fitness studio run by women for women, I definitely recommend GRIT to all women of any age, fitness level, or profession. But yep, sorry guys, that does mean this one’s not for you.
