SHREDing it with Erin

So I need to start by saying that the only reason this was 4.5 stars was because the class was a tad bit slow for me... that said, this was an SLT Yoga class, albeit an intense one, but I'm sure that explains the pace.

On Erin:
Erin is just a complete doll! She introduced herself individually to the newbies (myself included), and chatted a bit before class started. Once class began, she was just 100% on the ball in terms of demonstrating the right things, walking around and correcting form, and individual shout outs. She definitely had her finger on the pulse of the class which is so key for something like this where it's a hybrid yoga/pilates/conditioning scenario where you pull people from a bunch of different fitness backgrounds.

On the class:
I tried this class at the recommendation of one of my favorite fitness instructors. I have plenty of high intensity in my schedule with various running, jumping and spinning related activities, and have been wanting to do something yoga-esque but I am not a patient, contemplative person.... I was told that this would be a good way to accomplish what I was trying to, and it was!

Around 20 minutes into the class, I was dripping sweat as we did downward dog-pushup-burpees, and then I was drenched when we started using gliders to do sliding lunges, sliding mountain climbers and a bazillion plank variations. There were also a bunch of moves I've done in other classes which, when given a yoga/stretching spin, humbled the heck out of me and worked muscles that I never hit otherwise.

I also realized that I have like no flexibility?? But it was definitely comforting that there were other people in the class who were clearly uber fit and were having similar experiences. This DEFINITELY is not a negative to me because I'm super excited to find a class where I can actively target my flexibility but where I can do so to clubby music and while still working my ass off and creating sweat pools (my favorite!)

Yay Erin and Yay SLT Yoga!!

I put this under SLT though it's technically SLT Yoga- just couldn't find that as an option though
