Nice ride but not my style
I recently tried out SoulCycle after hearing so many people rave about the studio. While I had an overall nice experience, their spin classes aren't my style, which made it hard to really get into the classes. The studio was nice and not as clastrophobic as I feared with so many bikes. I ended up trying four different instructors (I really, really wanted to fall in love with Soul and kept trying). While I enjoyed their energy and passion, I didn't connect with any of their styles. My personal preference for spin is definitely more road-like and less dancey. I'm just not a scented candle and personal affirmation kind of gal. Nothing against people who enjoy it- I just realize now that it's not me. My only real negative was the number of trampoline bums that I saw bouncing on the bikes at times. Of the four classes I attended, two instructors corrected people's form when they saw it and two did not. In all, I really wanted to fall in love with Soul but I think we'll have to settle for being just friends. I can see how people adore it, but for me, I just don't mesh as well with the format.

PointsHey giantsgal - did you take String when you were there? He might be more your style (the most straightforward/non dancey of the teachers, IMO)

PointsI'm curious who you tried, as I'd recommend Amy and/or trying SoulBands as my favorite of the 'less dancy' of the Soul classes that I love. (I've never tried String.)
